High - Performance
House

The high-performance provides incredible comfort & health benefits beyond NZ minimum building code requirements.

As experienced high-performance builders (and energy-efficient renovation experts), we have reliable systems in place to streamline the process while remaining focused on the quality of materials and sustainable products. With a wide network of trusted suppliers, we select only the best-quality building materials. From triple-glazed windows to smart ventilation systems and solar installations, you can expect a high-end, functional, healthy and affordable home.

ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE STANDARD

The high-performance is also designed to maintain a temperature range of 20–25°C, using up to 50kWh per m² annually for heating. The thermal performance of the eHaus Pacific is reduced slightly compared to the eHaus Euro.

An energy-efficient home drastically cuts energy consumption and therefore costs. This reduction is achieved through improved insulation and airtightness of the floor, walls and roof.

LOWER ENERGY COSTS

We use MHRV - Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation systems that work efficiently in the background so you can breathe fresh air and stay warm while using less energy.

DRY AIR THAT'S EASIER TO HEAT

Fitted with thermally efficient Low E & Argon gas windows that eliminate condensation, draughts and mould. Double or triple glazing also captures free solar energy and reduces heat loss.

THE CERTIFICATION

Though they don’t meet the stringent Passive House criteria, our High-Performance homes are energy modelled and undergo rigorous internal checks and processes and are awarded eHaus verification upon completion, following a final airtightness test for draughts.

The High-Performance still gives you a comfy, healthy, energy-efficient home, but you may need a bit more heating than an eHaus Euro on really cold days or use active cooling in the summer.

An High-Performance uses, on average, 82% less energy for heating and cooling compared to conventional homes.

The main thing you’ll notice in an high-performance house is that you will feel comfortable, even when it’s freezing outside. Most homes stay at a comfortable temperature with the warmth from the sun, people and appliances. On cold winter days you may need to use the heating for a few hours to bring your home up to temperature.

A high-performance home is designed with minimal thermal bridges - one of the most significant sources of energy loss within a building. By minimising this escape you'll save energy.

Constant temperature technology means that you can live in every room of an eHaus no matter the season. Every room is designed to operate between 20–25°c all year round.
